Yuri’s Night 2025 Celebrated in Ethiopia

On April 12, 2025, the Ethiopian Space Science Society (ESSS), in collaboration with the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) and the Space science and geo-spatial institute (SSGI), hosted Yuri’s Night 2025 to commemorate Cosmonautics Day.

The morning session at SSGI Headquarters began with a flower-laying ceremony honoring Yuri Gagarin, followed by speeches from Mr. Abdisa Yilma, Director General of SSGI, and Mr. Evgeniy E. Terekhine, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ethiopia.

In the afternoon, celebrations continued with interactive presentations, games, and space-themed activities. The event was hosted by Ms. Lidia Dinsa, who guided the program throughout the afternoon. Welcoming remarks were given by Mr. Kirubel Menberu (ESSS) and Mr. Vladimir Golovachev ( RCSC ), followed by inspiring talks from guest speakers Mr. Nebiyu Suleyman and Mr. Balewken Endale.

🚀🔭ሻዶው ዘሳይንቲስት ተማሪዎችን ከተመራማሪዎች ጋር የሚያገናኝ መርሐግብር ሲሆን ይህም ተማሪዎች የሳይንሳዊ ምርምርን አካሄድ እንዲረዱ እና እንዲለማመዱ ልዩ እድል የሚሰጥ ነው። በመርሐግብሩ በበይነመረብ የተካሄደ ሲሆን ስለ ኤልሲኦ ኦብዘርቫቶሪ አሰራር እንዲሁም የሰማይ አካላትን የተጣራ መረጃን ለማግኘትት የማይፈለጉ ምልክቶችን ከጥሬ መረጃ የማስወገድ ሂደት ወይም በዳታ ሪዳክሽን ዙሪያ ያተኮረ ነበር፡፡
