በኢትዮጵያ የካንሰር ተጠቂዎች ቁጥር እየጨመረ መሆኑን፣ በተለይም ማኀበረሰቡ ትንቦሆ፣  አልኮል ነክ ነገሮችን ከመጠቀም እንዲታቀብ ጥሪ ቀረበ።

ለካንሰር ሕሙማን የሕክምና አገልግሎት እየተሰጠ ቢሆንም በተለይ በኢትዮጵያ በኩል የፋይናንስ እጥረት ችግር እንደፈተነው ማቲዎስ ወንዱ ካንሰር ሶሳይቲ ለቲክቫህ ኢትዮጵያ ገልጿል።

ተቋሙ የ20ኛ ዓመት ምስረታውን በማስመልከት መግለጫ ሰጥቶ ነበር።

ቲክቫህ ኢትዮጵያ ካንሰር #በኢትዮጵያ በምን ደረጃ ላይ ይገኛል ? በበሽታው የተጠቂ ሰዎች ቁጥር ቀነሰ ወይስ ጨመረ ? ሲል ጥያቄ አቅርቧል።

የተቋሙ የቦርድ አባልና የውስጥ ደዌ ባለሙያው ዶክተር አስቻለው ወርቁ ምን አሉ ?

“ በጣም እየጨመረ ነው ያለው። ለመጨመሩ የተለያዩ ምክንያቶች ይኖራሉ። በአጠቃላይ ተላላፊ ያልሆኑ በሽዎች እየጨመሩ ነው። የካንሰር ህመምም እየጨመረ ነው።

ለምሳሌ፦ የሳንባ ካንሰርን ብናዬው ከፍ ያለ ደረጃ ላይ ነው ያለው። የምንመረምረው ጥቂት ሰዎችን ስለሆነ በዚያችው ዳታ ተመርኩዘን ነው የምንገልጸው። ማኀበረሰቡን ያማከለ የዳሰሳ ጥናት ካልሰራን ቁጥሩን በትክክል መግለጽ ከባድ ነው።

10 ሰዎችን መርምሮ 5 ሕሙማን ቢገኝ 50 በመቶ ማለት አይቻልም። ምክንያቱም ያልተመረመሩ ብዙ ስለሚኖሩ። እንደ አጠቃላይ ካየነው ግን ፦
- የሳንባ፣
- የአንጀት፣
- የጉበት፣
- የማህፀን፣
- የደም ሴል ካንሰር ታማሚሞች ቁጥራቸው እጅግ ባጣም እየጨመረ ነው ያለው። ” ብለዋል።

ካንሰር ዋነኛ የሞት እና የስቃይ ምክንያት እየሆነ መምጣቱን ቁጥሮች እንደሚያመላክቱ ተገልጿል።

ለአብነት በጥቁር አንበሳ ሆስፒታል ከሞቱ ሰዎች ካንሰር የመገኘት እድሉ ከፍ ብሏል። ምክንያቱም የሳንባ ካንሰር ካሉት የካንሰር ዝርዝሮች ወደ 6ኛ ደረጃ ላይ ነው ያለው ተብሏል።

የማቲዎስ ወንዱ ካንሰር ሶሳይቲ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አቶ ወንዱ በቀለ ምን አሉ ?

“ የኢትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ትንባሆ መሸጥም መግዛትም እንዳይችል የሚነገርበት ጊዜ መቼ ነው ?

ትንባሆ ነክ ነገሮች፣ አልኮል በሽታውን እያስፋፉት ነው።
 
ከ3,000 በላይ የካንሰር ሕሙማንና ቤተሰባቸውን እረድተናል። በአሁኑ ወቅት 175 ለካንሰር ሕሙማንና ለቤተሰባቦቸው፦

° ከአገራቸው የሚመጡበት ሙሉ የትራንስፖርት፣
° ከውጪ የሚገዙ መድኃኒቶች፣ 
° በሆስፒታል ውጪ በግል ተቋማት ለሚሰሩ የላብራቶሪ ምርመራ፣ 
° ሆስፒታል ለተኙት ሕሙማን ለአንዳንድ ነገር መሸፈኛ በወር 1,000 ብር፣
° እየታከሙ ለሚማሩ ተማሪዎች በወር 1,000 ብር፣
° 24 አልጋ ባለው የካንሰር ሕክምና ማዕከል በየዕለቱ ለቁርስ፣ ምሳ፣ በክሰስና እራት ወጪዎችን እየሸፈንን ነው። ”

NB. ማቲዎስ ወንዱ የኢትዮጵያ ካንሰር ሶሳይቲ የአቶ ወንዱ በቀለ የ4 ዓመት ጨቅላ ልጃቸው በካንሰር በሽታ ሕይወቱ ማለፉን ተከትሎ ቤተሰቦቹ የደረሰባቸውን መሪር ሀዘን “ ማቲዎስ ቢሞትም ብዙ ማቲዎሶችን ማዳን እንችላለን ” በሚል መልካም አስተሳሰብ በመቀየር በ15 መስራች አባሎች ሚያዚያ 9 ቀን 1996 ዓ/ም የተመሠረተ ለካንሰር ሕሙማን የሕክምና አገልግሎት የሚሰጥ ለትርፍ ያልተቋቋመ ድርጅት ነው።
