የፖሊሲ ጥናት ኢንስቲትዩት እንደገለፀው በከተሞች ያለውን የቤት አቅርቦት ችግር ለመፍታት በዓመት በአማካኝ 471 ሺህ ቤቶችን መገንባት ይጠይቃል ብሏል።

ኢንስቲትዩቱ ተመራማሪ የሆኑት ሰለሞን ጥላሁን የቤት ልማት የፍይናንስ ስረዓት ላይ ያቀረቡትን ጥናት ዋቢ አድርጎ ኢፕድ እንደዘገበው በኢትዮጵያ 68 በመቶ የሚሆኑ ዜጎች ቤት ለመስራት የብድር አገልግሎት እንደሚያስፈልግ ተመላክቷል።

ይህን ተከትሎ የሀገሪቷ መንግስት በ10 ዓመት እቅዱ 4 ነጥብ አራት ሚሊዮን ቤቶችን ለመገንባት እየሰራ መሆኑና በአማካኝ የሚያስፈልገውን 471 ሺህ ቤት የሚያሟላ ሊሆን እንደሚችል ተገልጿል ።

በነዳጅ ሽያጭ እየተሳተፉ የሚገኙት ቴሌ ብር፣ የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ እና አንድ የግል ባንክ ብቻ የነበሩ ሲሆን አሁን ግን መንግስት ሌሎች የፋይናንስ ተቋማት መሳተፍ እንዲችሉ የወሰነ መሆኑ ታውቋል።

የነዳጅ ገበያውን ለማዘመን እና ህገወጥ አሰራርን ለማስቀረት በማሰብ መንግስት የነዳጅ ሽያጭ በሞባይል የክፍያ ስርአት ብቻ እንዲከናወን ወስኖ እየተተገበረ እንደሚገኝ ይታወሳል።

በዚህም ዘመናዊውን የግዥ መተግበሪያ/አፕ ያበለፀገው ኩባንያ ሌሎች ባንኮችን ለማካተት እየሰራ ሲሆን ባንኮቹ ግን ከመቼ ጀምሮ ወደ ስርአቱ ይገባሉ የሚለው አለመታወቁን ነው የተገለጸው ።

የኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ባንክ አስመጪዎች ያለባንክ ዋስትና መላክ በሚቻለው ቅድመ ክፍያ መጠን ላይ ጭማሪ ለማድረግ መመሪያውን እየከለሰ እንደሚገኝ ተሰምቷል።

ላለፉት 27 አመታት ሲተገበር በቆየው አሰራር መሰረት አስመጪዎች ያለባንክ ዋስትና ለሚያስገቡት እቃ በቅድሚያ መላክ/መክፈል የሚችሉት የውጭ ምንዛሬ መጠን ከ5 ሺ ዶላር መብለጥ እንደማይችል የማእከላዊ ባንኩ መመሪያ ደንግጓል።

ይህን ተከትሎ ከ5ሺ ዶላር በላይ ቅድመ ክፍያ መፈፀም ከፈለጉ ከአገር ውስጥ ባንክ ዋስትና ማቅረብ ይጠበቅባቸው እንደነበር ይታወቃል ።

ይህ የጭማሪ መጠኑ ምን ያህል እንደሆነ የተገለፀ ነገር ባይኖርም አዲሱ መመሪያው ግን በቀጣይ መጋቢት ወር ወደ ስራ ይገባል ተብሎ ይጠበቃል።

Global Bank Ethiopia reported a 14pc increase in earnings per share (EPS) to 332 Br, despite a decline in net profit, using profit before tax rather than net profit in its calculation. Based on net profit, it would yield an EPS of 219 Br. The discrepancy, auditors conceded, was corrected in a letter sent to management after detecting the oversight post-printing of the financials.

BIC Ethiopia has announced that applications are now open for the next cohort of its Catalyzer Programme, aimed at supporting Ethiopian Agribusiness and AgriTech entrepreneurs. The four-month programme provides business training, peer learning, and financial support, including grants of up to EUR 4,000 and discounted loans of up to EUR 50,000.

The programme targets small and medium-sized businesses in and around Addis Ababa, with a strong potential for job creation. Business registration is not a requirement for applicants.

The application deadline is February 13, 2025 (11:59 PM), and the programme will start on March 5, 2025.

BIC Ethiopia (Business Incubation) supports business incubators in strengthening AgriTech and Agribusiness startups, improving market access, generating higher incomes, and creating jobs. The programme is backed by the European Commission and implemented by sequa gGmbH alongside local and international partners.
