What saddens me sometimes is how some people, maybe most, in Ethiopia feel the need to include English in their speech to appear (in their minds) to be of higher status people.

It all smells neo-colonialism to me.

The reason most content on this channel is written in English is because I want it to reach everyone and not be available just to Amharic speaking and reading people.

ምርጡ ገበታ is kinda the worst case of this. Enjoy the show very much but it's an Ethiopian show for an Ethiopian audience, I don't get why they have to speak that much English, doesn't make sense.
