Craft.
A craftsman once came to a priest and complained that he was dissatisfied with his craft.
The priest asked him the reason. The craftsman replied that his craft:
▪️ Firstly,
it is not profitable;
▪️ Secondly, it’s a little
difficult,
▪️ Thirdly,
it brings little honor.
To which the priest answered him:
— I’ll give you three pieces of advice that might help you:
▪️ If your craft does not seem profitable enough to you, then you are self-interested;
▪️ If it is too difficult for you, then you are lazy;
▪️ If you don’t find enough honor in him, then you are proud.
Therefore, it is absolutely clear that this craft is the best for you, since it can free you from your three bad qualities.
The ashamed artisan left the priest and went to his workshop. Working diligently, he soon became convinced that the priest was telling the truth.
Moral: no one says that you need to grab the first job that comes your way, but, unfortunately, many people are prevented by their pride, laziness and selfishness from starting to do at least something.As Steve Jobs said:“Start small, but dream big. Don't do too many things at once. Do a few simple things first, and gradually move on to more complex ones. And always think about the future"
