I saw many people talking about policy and funding, but I don’t think that’s the only problem—it’s also our mindset. Seeing A2SV leave Ethiopia is really sad. As a community, we’re not even grateful for things that genuinely help us. Some say “he came for profit,” but even if that’s true, at least be thankful. We saw something none of us could’ve imagined. We’re too focused on ourselves and quick to complain. If we can’t handle opportunities, maybe it’s better they go to other African brothers and sisters who are open-minded and hungry for change.
