The woman who bears your child, is equally as critical as the child.

If you two never got married, it may appear that all that matters is your child, you care less about her mother.

But that's only a very stupid thought, especially if your child is still living with her mother.

She has 24/7 opportunity to "program" your child with every ideology and philosophy she may hold, right from the beginning.

So, if you're not willing to father a child, wear a condom. It's best to have no child as a man than have a child with the wrong woman, unless she was a surrogate mother.

Else, understand that she will be part of the child's life so long as the child lives. If you don't want to see her around somewhere in your future, have no child with her. Period.
