This year also had disappearances & rediscovery 😊...

Just like Hozier’s stories I had to discover where I was messing up and the things that really matter to me…

Sometimes for the extreme and it becomes easier to see things like its either “this or that” which is a predominant but incomplete perspective…

ahhh and then there are people in between that can see you beyond the current predicament….

Though the Length of Sunday is debatable … Gramatik’s way of resetting the vibe remains 😊

He besides collaborating on tracks such as “can’t stop the bleeding” which was featured from marvel movies to play station and other iconic blockbuster movies he releases jams such as today’s with simple titles and a shega reset

Overthinking who’d follow Gash Menelik … I almost fell into Those MIA Phases 😊
And then She Took the stage… In her various colors bringing derbaba vibes.... a bold set of elegant jams… from her unique Megbia… to the Arabic caravan vibes in Bezema….
& on Today’s Jam, Chelina goes beyond the vague silhouette of the “Knight in Shining Armour”… she like a rapper breaking down each trait
But she does the Chelina way ….ቅኔ ዘረፋ አይነት… transcending genres

Though the height of some of the character elements are የትዬእለሌ 😊…the Clarity is undeniably Shega

Today’s jam is one of those enjoyable and yet debatable as to what it means… (the ወርቅ bit 😊 )

My take? Its about forgiveness and togetherness with the repeated emphasis Shiro As in Forgiven … that aside it’s a shega blend of hip hop with Gibr Dinner vibes with a ደርባባ ደጋሽ at the center…

Once you get passed the strange title, Amerigo brings his craft with the instrumental version which we’re jamming to today immerses the listener the narratives of “collaborations that never were”...I really enjoy how he brings together the vibes taking a leap both in his imagination of artists and the final result

Who misses the Violin hits…?

Today’s jam is a cover of happier by Marshmello ft. Bastille, while the original song stands on its own …. The cover leverages the idea that a violin seamlessly feels like an instrument and a vocal as if it is saying the words… and was looking back at the Violin Series from 5 years ago…this felt like an decent addition to the list..

As we give Farewell to a An Ethiopian Music Legend Getachew Kassa, I was reminded about the very few people with artful delivery that is so immersive that we are forced the visit dark corners…the corners we have trouble admitting…

From Endihim Endihm, Bichayen Tekeizje, Tizitash Zewetir, Getachew Kassa with his singular voice and stage act have been doing that since the 1960s after 27 years came back home…
With a unique sound & perspective …today I would like to celebrate the one that made us experience the tizita with no limits to where or how we go about it…

Speaking of searching things, I was thinking about tizeta, as a way of dissecting memories with details…
More vivid images, more real time reactions to each note...

And Toay’s Jam to me, is a musical interpretation of that concept as an interpretation Legend Kassa Tessema the backing sample is from the original song, Then he dissects it more as the song progresses...like a slow-mo :)

I have a confession to make… as much as there’s no lack of quantity of new music and that causes some numbness to explore, there are one with Craft that make each minute count with range fusion and a unique color that rymes with their music…
Some of them made it to the main stream some of them are still catching on…

Meet Leykun, introduced to me by Aman (shoutouts Gashe 😊) a relatively new artist that blends layers upon layers on sound, concept and still make it sound like he still searching for something… Today’s Jam called eregeb… has that Calm Vibe that carried me through the flickering Sunshine on the road

Today he approaches Mrs.Derbaba with layers from a confidante, a partner, a dream, a mother He calls her የአመል ዘብ and....
ታስማማዋለች በጥርሧ ስቃ :)
