Did you know you can search for keywords within an X user's profile (such as their tweets or bio), by using the following methods?
1. Search Tweets from a Specific User
Using the Search Bar:
Go to the X website or app and locate the search bar (magnifying glass icon).
Type from:username keyword (e.g., from:elonmusk rocket) to find tweets from that user containing the specified keyword. Replace "username" with the user's handle (without the @) and "keyword" with the word or phrase you’re searching for.
Press Enter to view the results.
Using Advanced Search:
On a web browser, go to https://twitter.com/search-advanced or https://x.com/search-advanced.
In the "From these accounts" field, enter the username (without @).
In the "Words" section, add the keywords or phrases you want to search for.
Click "Search" to view tweets from that user matching your keywords.
Note: Advanced Search is not available in the X mobile app but can be accessed via a mobile browser.
2. Search Keywords in a User’s Profile Bio
X’s native search doesn’t directly allow searching keywords in profile bios. However, you can use third-party tools or Google:
Google Search:
Use the query site:twitter.com “bio * keyword” -intitle:keyword +“on twitter” in Google, replacing "keyword" with your term (e.g., site:twitter.com “bio * climate change” -intitle:climate change +“on twitter”). This searches for profiles with the keyword in their bio.
Third-Party Tools:
Tools like Circleboom allow you to search for keywords in Twitter/X profiles, bios, and names. Steps include:
Log into Circleboom and connect your X account.
Navigate to "Search" > "Smart Search" and enter the keyword.
Apply filters (e.g., verified accounts) to refine results.
Other tools like Fedica or Twiangulate can also search bios by keyword, offering additional filters like location or follower count.
3. Search Within a User’s Profile on the X App
Open the X app and go to the user’s profile.
Tap the search icon (magnifying glass) on their profile banner.
Enter keywords to search for tweets from that user containing those terms. This feature is available on iOS and partially on Android/web.
Notes:
Limitations: You must be logged into an X account to use Advanced Search or view full results.
Privacy: Ensure the profile is public, as private accounts’ tweets are not searchable.
Mobile Access: For Advanced Search on mobile, use a browser instead of the app.
Saving Searches: You can save up to 25 searches for quick access later by clicking the three-dot menu next to the search bar and selecting "Save this search."
