I like religion the way I like wrestling.

Abiy is one of the very few politicians that sounds better out of context than in context.

ሐሜት feels good because it's a catharsis,

and feels bad because you know you can't say it to the person themself, it's a practical recognition of their power over you.

Dear people who use 'ያምሃል እንዴ' in a casual conversation,

The Italians were cooking when they came up with the 🤌 shake. Some frustrations can only be expressed that way.

I don't know who needs to hear this (actually I do, but it may be a more general message), but you need to act like a tourist in your own city more often.

Freelancing is awesome because it's the clearest form of job description ever.

The exploitation that goes on based off vague job descriptions is wild.

I feel emasculated everytime I have to put my phone on silent.

Patterns, not incidents, make or break us.

It's been downhill since that one wallpaper, and it's hard to go back to it tail tucked between legs.

That reset your body goes through once it finally understands that you're not giving it the sleep it's been demanding, beautiful!

There's often this paradox in film where in whenever a character watches something on a screen, it's to indicate that they're engaged in escapism. They're not doing it because the content is especially engaging, but because they're running away from something in their scenario, or even to use it as a time to ruminate on their thoughts (plenty plot changing ideas come to them during their screen time).

But at the same time they try to sell us, the viewers, that what we're watching is the most interesting story, not merely to escape into but to fully get immersed in.

Situating their universe, between ours and the one inside the film they watch, as the most riveting one.

I'm convinced people enjoy the show of status from eating ቁርጥ more than its actual taste.
