Jeon Jong-seo, also known by her English name Rachel Jun, is a South Korean actress born on July 5, 1994, in Seoul, South Korea. She is the only child in her family. During her childhood, Jeon and her family moved to Canada, where she attended a private Christian middle school. She later returned to South Korea to complete her high school education at Anyang Arts High School. Afterward, she enrolled at Sejong University, majoring in film, but eventually dropped out to pursue her acting career more seriously.

In August 2017, Jeon joined a management agency and attended her first audition for director Lee Chang-dong's mystery film "Burning." Despite having no prior experience in the entertainment industry, she secured the lead role alongside renowned actors Yoo Ah-in and Steven Yeun. "Burning" premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2018, where Jeon walked the red carpet. The film received universal acclaim and became the first Korean film to make it to the final nine-film shortlist for Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards.

Following her debut, Jeon starred in the 2020 film "The Call," portraying the character Oh Young-sook. Her performance earned her the Best Actress award at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. In 2021, she made her English-language debut in "Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon," acting alongside Kate Hudson and Craig Robinson. The film premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival in September 2021.

In 2022, Jeon took on the role of Tokyo in "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area," the Korean adaptation of the Spanish crime-drama "Money Heist." She is set to reunite with "The Call" director Lee Chung-hyun for the Netflix film "Ballerina," portraying a former assassin.

On a personal note, Jeon has been in a relationship with director Lee Chung-hyun since December 2021.
