"Digitizing Agriculture mandatory!!",Dr.Chimdo Ochala,deputy CEO of ATI
-Openi,Ashewa Technologies to partner with ATI on Smart Agriculture
The first consultative meeting among ATI,Openi and Ashewa Technologies was held last Wednesday at the headquarters of ATI(Agricultural Transformation Institute).
During the occasion ato Biruk Alemayehu, the CEO of Openi and Technology manager with AKG plc presented to the attendees that the Russian Technology by. has state of the art solution to modernize Ethiopian Agricultural sector.
In his presentation, he also mentioned that the Russians Technology is already tested by many Russian government institutes which makes it reliable if transfered to Ethiopian government institutes like ATI.
The cost effectiveness is also much better than other western Technology companies, he stressed.
Ato Daniel. ,the founder and CEO of AShewa Technologies S.C on his part presented that Ashewa has created Afarm Technology which can address the demands of the farmers on the field.
He also listed the benefits of his Technology interms of cost and user friendliness.
A better smart solution is avaliable with his company which can address the challenges faced by rural agrarian community.
Experts drawn from different departments of ATI challenged the viability of the Technologies promoted by both presenters.
Finally,Dr.Chimdo Ochala, deputy CEO with ATI listed the list of activities the presenters should give priority in preparation for the next session.
Dr.Chimdo listed the prior areas among others;digital agriculture (small holder farmers),job creation, market linkage ,rural financing tracking input output and maximizing commercialization.
Ato Baslael also briefly explained the use of Geospatial Technology in the agriculture sectors.
