Dear PRAs, kindly note that registering all bulls kept for natural service is a must. Kindly consider the following points if we really need to improve the genetics of smallholder animals.
The performance of a bull, superior or inferior, can be determined by:
1. registering progeny (calf) - properly indicated the bull/sire id when you register new calves
2. capturing performance records (milk, growth, and other traits) of the bull dam
3. record performance of progeny and close relatives of the bull (full sibs or half sibs)
4. Whenever there is chance of hair sample collection - please give priority for those bulls
