Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has officially launched the 5 Million Ethiopian Coders Initiative at the Science Museum, aligning with the national Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy to bridge the digital skills gap.
The initiative is designed to provide digital technology training to five million citizens. By 2026, the program aims to equip these individuals with foundational skills in Web Programming, Android Development, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.
During the launch ceremony, Prime Minister Abiy emphasized the nation’s hope in its forward-thinking youth population. “The 5 Million Ethiopian Coders Initiative we launch today is a great opportunity,” he highlighted.
