DRDO has invited industry bids to build and integrate an indigenous 30 kW Spectral Beam Combined (SBC) laser weapon source and beam director optical channel. The system optically combines individual narrow-linewidth fiber laser channels into a unified high-energy beam to defeat drones and aerial threats at the speed of light.
Laser Architecture: Combines 30 narrow-linewidth fiber laser (NLFL) channels using high-efficiency diffraction gratings.
Alignment & Calibration: Precision 6-axis hexapod, electronic autocollimator, and interferometers for sub-micron optical alignment.
Thermal Management: Liquid-cooled fiber chucks, water-cooled exit beam dumps, and a zero-order beam dump rated up to 10 kW.
Eligibility: Proven industry expertise in >10 kW SBC systems or >1.5 kW fiber lasers.
