Basic Important terms of Physics
✅ Distance is the actual path that is traveled by a moving body.
✅ Position is the location of an object compared to a reference frame (point)
✅ Displacement is the difference between the initial point and final positions of an object.
✅ Speed it's rate of change of distance. It's a scalar quantity with the SI unit of m/s.
✅ Velocity it's rate of change of displacement. it's a vector quantity with the SI unit of m/s.
✅ Average Speed it's the ratio of total distance traveled and total time taken.
✅ Average Velocity it's the ratio of of change in displacement and change in time.
✅ Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. It's a vector quantity, with the SI unit of m/s².
✅ An object is said to accelerate when its velocity changes in magnitude, in direction, or both in magnitude and direction.
✅ Acceleration:The rate at which an object speeds up.
✅Deceleration: The rate at which an object slows down.
Note:
✔If velocity and acceleration have the same sign whether positive or negative its speeding up.
✔ If the velocity and acceleration have opposite sign, then the object is slowing down.
