Addis Ababa Investment Commission Surpasses Licensing Goals

Addis Ababa Investment Commission exceeded its targets for attracting investment and creating jobs over the past nine months.

The Commission granted licenses to a total of 1,921 investors, representing a combined capital investment of Birr 9 billion, surpassing the set objective by a remarkable 76%. The Commission’s initial goal was to register a combined capital of only 5.72 billion Birr. It generated a revenue of Birr 18.34 million through licensing and related services, and to further improve its services, it launched a pilot project for online service delivery.

The Commission facilitated the advancement of 394 projects from the planning stage to the implementation phase, with 101 projects already commenced operations. These also resulted in the creation of job opportunities for 11,354 citizens, exceeding the planned target of 8,244 jobs.

Apple LOSES its top phone maker spot to Samsung - as struggling tech giant urgently looks to find its 'next big thing'

- #Samsung sold 60.1 million units in Q1 - more than any other manufacturer.

- #Apple took the top spot for the first time last year with strong iPhone sales.

Apple has lost its spot as the largest smartphone seller in the world after iPhone shipments dropped about 10 percent in the first three months of the year.

iPhone sales were hit by increased competition from rival Android smartphone makers like Samsung, which took back the largest market share after losing it last year.

Samsung - which launched its flagship Galaxy S24 this year - sold some 20.8 percent of the total 289.4 million units shipped globally between January and March, according to data from intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC).
Apple shares were down less than 1 percent when markets opened on Monday morning.

It comes after the tech giant scrapped its decade-long plan to create its own electric vehicle and is now said to be experimenting with a personal robot device as insiders say they are grappling to find its 'next big thing' to drive sales.

Chinese brands like Huawei have gained a bigger share of the iPhone market, IDC data shows. Xiaomi, one of China's top smartphone makers, took the third position with a market share of 14.1 percent - selling 50.1 million units.

ለኢትዮጵያ ዜጎች ብቻ ተከልሎ የነበረውን የጅምላ እና የችርቻሮ ንግድ ስራን ለውጭ ዜጎች የሚፈቅደው ህግ በጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዐቢይ አሕመድ በሚመራው የኢትዮጵያ ኢንቨስትመንት ቦርድ ፤ ለኢትዮጵያውያን ተከልሎ የቆየውን የወጪ እና ገቢ ንግድን እንዲሁም የጅምላ እና ችርቻሮ ንግድን ለውጭ ባለሀብቶች የሚፈቅድ መመሪያ ተዘጋጅቷል ።

Ethiopia gears up to join Africa's free trade area

Ethiopia is on the home stretch of joining Africa's free trade area, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), according to the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MoTRI).

Tesfaye Tadesse, an International Relations Expert at the Ministry, revealed the completion of the necessary paperwork and is now undergoing technical preparations for its imminent entry into the continental market.

A key focus for the government is readying the business community for this integration. MoTRI is raising awareness among manufacturers, research institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure they are equipped to meet the requirements of the free trade zone. Tesfaye clarified that while the framework for the AfCFTA is established, a common customs system is not yet in place.

ከማዳበሪያ እና ነዳጅ ውጪ ሌሎች ምርቶችን ማስገባትንም መመሪያው ለውጭ ባለሀብቶች ይፈቅዳል

መንግስት ለበርካታ አመታት የሀገር ውስጥ ባለሀብቶች ብቻ እንዲሳተፉበት ተከልሎ የቆየው ቡናን ፣ ጫትን ፣ የቁም እንስሳትን እና ቆዳና ሌጦን ለውጭ ገበያ የመላክ ስራ ለውጭ ባለሀብቶች የሚፈቅድ መመሪያ ማዘጋጀቱን ዋዜማ ተረድታች።

በጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አቢይ አሕመድ በሚመራው የኢትዮጵያ ኢንቨስትመንት ቦርድ የተዘጋጀው እና ዋዜማ የተመለከተችው ሰነድ (መመሪያ) መንግስት በሀገሪቱ ኢኮኖሚ ላይ ጉልህ ለውጥ ሊያመጣ የሚችል ውሳኔን ለመወሰን ያበቃውን ምክንያት ያትታል።

የመመሪያው መግቢያ እንደሚለው ከሆነ የግብርና ምርቶቹን ለውጭ የመላኩ እና የአስመጪነትን ዘርፍ ለሀገር ውስጥ ባለሀብቶች ብቻ መከለሉ የተጠበቀውን ውጤት እንዳላስገኘ ይገልጻል። ብሎም ከለላውን ለህገ ወጥ ተግባር የሚጠቀሙ አካላትን እንደፈጠረ ፣ ላልተገባ ውድድር መንገድን እንደከፈተ ፣ በርካታ ቅሬታዎችን እንዳስከተለ እና ጥራት ያለው የኢኮኖሚ እንቅስቃሴ ለማከናወንም እንዳላስቻለ አክሎም ገልጿል።

መመሪያው አክሎም በእያንዳንዱ የወጪ ንግድ ዘርፎች ለመሰማራት የሚፈልጉ የውጭ ባለሀብቶች ማሟላት ያለባቸውን መስፈርቶች ዘርዝሯል።

በመመሪያው መሰረት ከኢትዮጵያ ገበያ ጥሬ ቡናን ገዝቶ ለውጭ ገበያ ለማቅረብ የሚፈልግ የውጭ ባለሀብት ላለፉት ተከታታይ ሶስት አመታት፣ ቢያንስ በአማካይ በየአመቱ ከኢትዮጵያ 10 ሚሊየን የአሜሪካ ዶላር የሚያወጣ ቡናን የገዛ መሆን እንደሚጠበቅበት እና ፍቃዱን ባገኘበት አመት ቢያንስ 10 ሚሊየን ዶላር የሚያወጣ ቡናን መላክ እንደሚችል የንግድ ውልን ማቅረብ እንደሚጠበቅበትም መመሪያው ያዛል።

ሆኖም የውጭ ባለሀብቱ ከኢትዮጵያ ቡና የመግዛት ታሪክ የሌለው ከሆነ ቡና የመላክ ፍቃድን ለማግኘት የተረጋገጠ እና አስተማማኝ ገበያ ያለው መሆኑን የሚያሳያ ሰነድ እና ፍቃድ ባገኘበት አመት 12.5 ሚሊየን የአሜሪካ ዶላር ዋጋ የሚያወጣ ቡናን እንደሚልክ የንግድ ውል ማቅረብ እንደሚጠበቅበት ያትታል።

የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ብድር መልቀቅ አቆመ

መንግስታዊው የፖሊሲ ባንክ የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ በጊዜያዊት ብድር መልቀቅ ማቆሙን ዋዜማ ከምንጮቿ ሰምታለች።

ንግድ ባንኩ ብድር ለማግኘት የተለያዩ ሂደቶችን አልፈው ፤ ብድሩ ተፈቅዶላቸው የመልቀቅ ሂደት ላይ ያሉትም እንዲቆም ነው ያዘዘው ። ባንኩ ይህን ትእዛዝ ያስተላለፈው ረቡዕ መጋቢት 25 ቀን 2016 ዓ/ም መሆኑንም ሰምተናል።

ዋዜማ እንደሰማችው ከሆነ ፤ ንግድ ባንኩ በጊዜያዊነት ብድር መልቀቅ ከማቆሙ በስተቀር ባስተላለፈው ትእዛዝ ላይ ብድር መልቀቅ ያቆመበትን ምክንያት አልገለጸም። ሆኖም ከብድር መልቀቅ መለስ ያሉት የብደር ጥያቄ እና ሂደቶቹ አለመቆማቸውን ሰምተናል።

መንግስታዊው የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ እስከ ዛሬ የሰጠው ብድርም ሆነ የሰበሰበው ቁጠባ ከአንድ ትሪሊየን ብር ያለፈ ብቸኛ ባንክ መሆኑ የሚታወቅ ነው።

ባንኩ በቅርቡ በተገበረው የሲስተም ማሻሻያ ሳቢያ በተፈጠረ ስህተት 801 ሚሊየን ብር ለምዝበራ ተዳርጎበት እንደነበረ እና ከዚህ ውስጥ አብዛኛውን ገንዘብ ባደረገው ክትትል ማስመለሱን የባንኩ ፕሬዝዳንት አቤ ሳኖ በሰጡት መግለጫ ተናግረው ነበር ። ባንኩ ገንዘቡን የማስመለስ አካል ነው ያለውን ባልተገባ የገንዘብ ዝውውር ውስጥ ተሳትፈዋል ያላቸውን ደንበኞች ፎቶ ሳይቀር ለህዝብ ይፋ አድርጓል ። አሁን በጊዜያዊነት ብድር መልቀቅ ማቆሙ ከዚህ ጋር ይገናኝ አይገናኝ ለማድረግ ያደረግነው ጥረት አልተሳካም።

የኢትዮጵያ ንግድ ባንክ ባለፈው አመት ብቻ 151 ቢሊየን ብር ብድር የሰጠ ሲሆን ፤ በተመሳሳይ አመት 165 ነጥብ 3 ቢሊየን ብር ቁጠባን ደግሞ ሰብስቦም ነበር ።ሆኖም ይህ በጀት አመት ከገባ ግን የቁጠባ አሰባሰቡ ከእቅዱ ጋር እየሄደ አለመሆኑ ተሰምቷል ። ለአብነትም በዚህ በጀት አመት የመጀመርያ ስድስት ወራት የሰበሰበው ቁጠባ ከእቅዱ አንጻር ከግማሽ በታች መሆኑም ተዘግቧል ። ለዚህ በተለያዩ የሀገሪቱ ክፍሎች ያለው ችግር እንደ ምክንያት ተጠቅሷል። ምናልባትም የአሁኑ የባንኩ በጊዜያዊነት ብድር የማቆም ውሳኔ ከዚህ ጋር በተያያዘ ከተፈጠረ የገንዘብ እጥረት ጋር ሊገናኝ አንደሚችል ምንጮቻችን ገልጸዋል።

ሶስተኛ፡- በብዙ ኢኮኖሚያዊ፤ ማህበራዊ እና ፖለቲካዊ ምክንያቶች ነባር ከተሞችን በመተው በአዲስ ስትራቴጂካዊ ከተሞች መተካት! በዋናነት ሀገራቶች በተለይ ዋና ከተሞችን የሚለውጡት ዋና ከተማው የሀገሪቷ ማዕከላዊ/አማካይ ቦታ ባለመሆኑ እና በነባር ከተማ የተጨናነቀ አኗኗር መፈጠር ሲጀምር ሲሆን! የሚከተሉት ሀገራት ዋና ከተማ የለወጡ ናቸው….

ካዛኪስታን (ከአልማታ ወደ አስታና)፤ ማይናማር (ከያንጎን ወደ ናይፒዳው)፤ ታንዛኒያ (ከዳሬሰላም ወደ ዶዶማ)፤ ናይጄሪያ (ከሌጎስ ወደ አቡጃ)፤ ብራዚል (ከሪዮ ዲ ጄኔሮ ወደ ብራዚሊያ)፤ ፓኪስታን (ከካራቺ ወደ ኢስላማባድ)፤ ራሽያ (ከሴንት ፒተርስፐርግ ወደ ሞስኮ)፤ ግብጽን ጨምሮ አሁን ላይ አዲስ ዋና ከተማ እየገነቡ ያሉ ሀገራቶች አሉ፡፡

እንደ ኢትዮጲያ ዝቅተኛ ኢኮኖሚ ባለው ሀገር አዲስ ዋና ከተማ መገንባት (ከኢኮኖሚ አንጻር፡ የቦታ ዝግጅት እስከ የግንባታ ወጪ ቢሊየን ዶላሮችን መጠየቁ እና ከፖለቲካ አንጻር፡ የፌደራል አወቃቀር ስርዓቱ የቦታ መረጣን እና ዝግጅትን ቀላል ሂደት የሚሰጠው ባለመሆኑ) ቀላል አይሆንም! እንዲሁም ነባር ዋና ከተማ እና መንደሮችን አፍርሶ በመገንባት ሂደት ላይም ነባር ኢኮኖሚያዊ እና ማህበራዊ እንቅስቃሴዎች የሚኖራቸው Opportunity Cost ቀላል አይሆንም፡፡
